Emojiland

—  Emojiland is an electric ensemble piece about a diverse community of archetypes who take one another at face value. When a software update threatens to destroy life as they know it, these seemingly disconnected characters become inextricably interlinked.

Production Team: Tom Caruso (Director), David Goldstein (Scenic Design), Jamie Roderick (Lighting Design), Lisa Renkel (Projection Design), Kenneth Goodwin (Sound Design), Sarah Zinn (Costume Design)

“Directed by Thomas Caruso against a backdrop of clever projections (by Lisa Renkel) … “Emojiland” takes place inside a smartphone, in a digital mini-world peopled with emojis, and its hero looks about the way you’d think: like an undiluted dweeb — though, since this is a pop musical, the chartreuse frames on his glasses are kind of fabulous.” - New York Times

“Spiraling multi-colored centers are juxtaposed with black and white graphics … Projection Design by Lisa Renkel fills the Acorn Theater.” - Theater Pizzazz
